Both of us grew up in families that had a pool. Neither of us understood, until much later, what that had actually cost.
Tiffany and I have worked for everything we have, and a few years ago we were fortunate enough to put in a really nice pool of our own. It is genuinely one of the best things we have ever spent money on. Not the pool. The Saturdays.
And standing in it, the thought that would not leave me alone was not we made it. It was why can't everybody have this? Why does a hole in the ground with water in it cost what a car costs? Why does it take an entire summer? Why did three companies quote us three completely different numbers and none of them would put a date on paper?
I could not let it go. That is a personality defect, and it is also the only reason this company exists.
